Free tools Social Share Preview
See how your link
looks when it is shared.
Preview the card Facebook, LinkedIn, X and Slack will show for a page, checked against its Open Graph tags and its actual image, with what to fix when it looks wrong.
Where the card comes from
When a link is shared, the platform fetches the page and reads its Open Graph tags:
og:title, og:description and og:image. X also reads
twitter:card, which decides between a small thumbnail and the large image. Without the
tags, platforms guess from the page, and the guess is usually worse.
We read the same tags, fall back the way the platforms do, and fetch the image itself, because a tag pointing at a missing or tiny image is the most common broken preview.
The image that works everywhere
1200 × 630 pixels, under 5 MB, as a JPG or PNG on an https address. That fills the large card on Facebook, LinkedIn, X and Slack without cropping anything important.
Questions
What size should an og:image be?
1200 × 630 pixels, a 1.91 : 1 shape. Anything under 600 × 315 is shown as a small thumbnail on most platforms.
I fixed my tags but Facebook still shows the old preview. Why?
Platforms cache previews. Facebook's Sharing Debugger and LinkedIn's Post Inspector let you ask them to fetch the page again.
Do I need Twitter tags as well as Open Graph?
X reads Open Graph tags for the title, description and image, but needs twitter:card set to summary_large_image to show the large image.
Why is my image not showing?
Usually the address is wrong, the image is on http rather than https, or it is too small. The checks above say which.
Every check, on one page, ranked by what matters.
These tools each answer one question. A WebRankPage report answers all of them at once for a page, and more than fifty others, with the evidence from your own source and the fix for each.
