1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. "Local storage" is a related browser mechanism for storing small values. WebRankPage uses essential cookies for the dashboard, local storage for a few display preferences, and optional analytics cookies on the marketing site when configured. We keep it minimal.

2. Dashboard cookies (essential)

These are required for the app to work, you cannot sign in without them.

Exact names may vary. Essential cookies are strictly necessary and are not used for tracking or advertising.

The dashboard also keeps a few preferences in your browser's local storage, such as whether you last chose the light or dark theme. These never leave your device and are not sent to us.

While you browse, your browser's session storage also notes how this visit began: the site that linked to us, any campaign tags in the address, and the first page you saw. It is cleared when you close the tab and is sent to us only if you create an account, with the sign-up form, so we know how people find us. No cookie is set for it.

3. Analytics and advertising cookies (optional)

We count visits with Plausible, which sets no cookie at all. When we run advertising, we also use Google Analytics and Google Ads to see which ads bring people to us. Those set cookies, and what happens depends on where you are:

• In the EU, the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and Canada, a banner asks first, and nothing from Google loads until you choose. If we cannot tell where you are, you are asked too.
• Everywhere else, including the United States, both categories are on unless you turn them off in Cookie settings. A browser that sends Global Privacy Control turns Marketing off for you.

Cookies fall into three categories. Strictly necessary cookies are always active, because the website cannot function without them. Analytics and Marketing cookies are optional: choose Accept all, Necessary only, or Manage preferences to set each category separately.

Either way the site works exactly the same if you say no. You can change your choices at any time with Cookie settings at the foot of every page; switching a category off removes its Google cookies from your browser.

When we are not running ads, no banner appears and none of the Google cookies above are set. If you arrived from one of our ads and Marketing is on for you, as above, we also keep the ad's click identifier with your account, so a purchase made days later can still be credited to the ad.

4. The sites you analyse

When we fetch a page, the server may send us a cookie in its response, as it would to any visitor. We store it only as part of the response headers we analyse, and we do not send it back or use it for anything.

5. Cookie security

Essential cookies are set with HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite flags, so they cannot be read by client-side scripts and are sent only over HTTPS.

6. Managing cookies

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent the dashboard from working. Clearing local storage will reset display preferences such as your theme choice. Most browsers let you manage cookies under their Privacy or Security settings.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here before they take effect.
